Privacy

Updated on 30 October 2026.

Scoutrip helps football agents and scouts plan their trips. This page explains what data we handle, why, and how to exercise your rights.

Who we are

Scoutrip is published by Nigel Atangana. For any question about your data: contact@scoutrip.com.

Your account

We keep your email address and what you need to sign in, and, if you arrived through one of our links, that link's channel (for example LinkedIn). Your password is never stored in plain text. Accounts are hosted by Supabase.

This data gives you access to the app and lets you find your notebook on all your devices. It is kept for as long as your account exists. To delete it, write to us.

If you request access

During the pre-launch, access is requested on the home page. We keep your email address, what you do (agent, club scout, other), your organisation if you give it, the page's language and, if you arrived through one of our links, that link's channel. This data is used only to answer your request and invite you. It is hosted by Supabase and kept until we reply, then for six months at most: an automatic task deletes requests older than six months every night. To have it deleted sooner, write to us.

Your notebook and your trips

Your notebook (your players, observations, notes and followed teams), your saved trips and your saved starting addresses (home, office) are encrypted on your device, with your password, before they are sent. We host them without being able to read them. The only exception, if you join a team: the matches of your upcoming itineraries (see “Team mode”).

What you write about players is part of your professional activity: you are responsible for it, and Scoutrip hosts it for you. We recommend that you:

  • write facts seen in matches, as if the player and his parents were going to read them: a player can ask to read what is written about him;
  • record no health data (injuries, growth) and nothing about his private life;
  • do not store the contact details of a minor's family;
  • remove from your notebook the players you no longer follow.

Team mode (if you join a team)

A club or an agency can open a team: a head of scouting and their scouts. If your head of scouting invites you and you accept, your upcoming itineraries are shared with them automatically: for each match, the teams, the competition, the date, the time, the ground and the town, with your name or the start of your email address. Never your notebook, your players or your notes.

This information is not encrypted: our server has to read it to tell your head of scouting about a new itinerary, or about two scouts planned on the same match. It is hosted by Supabase, kept while the itinerary is upcoming, and deleted as soon as you leave the team, your head of scouting removes you or your account is deleted. We also keep the email address of invited scouts, and the answer given.

Alerts on your phone

If you turn on alerts, we keep, for this phone: the technical address used to send it a notification (provided by Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft) and its keys, your language, the alerts turned on, and the matches of your upcoming trips (the teams, the date, the time). Each match is deleted the next day. Never your players or your notes.

This information is not encrypted: our server has to read it to warn you about a postponed match or a changed kick-off time. It is deleted when you turn alerts off or sign out on this phone.

Players shown in Scoutrip

Line-ups, squads and player profiles come from Sportmonks, a sports data provider. We show the name, position, number, club and year of birth; on the profile, age, height, weight, foot, nationality, career and statistics. The date and town of birth are shown only for adult players. Never a photo.

For a match, we show whether a player is injured or suspended, as the provider publishes it, but never the nature of the injury.

This information helps agents and scouts recognise the players they watch. In the app, only signed-in users can see it. We do not sell it.

One exception: the home page shows, as an example, the profile of one adult professional player, frozen on the day it was collected and dated, without date or town of birth, weight, transfer fees or contract. The player or his representative can ask for its removal at contact@scoutrip.com: we remove it within 48 hours.

A player, or his parents if he is a minor, can write to contact@scoutrip.com to ask for access to this information, its correction, or to no longer appear.

When you search for a player or an address

The name you type to find a player goes through our server for the time of the search. It is not kept.

The address you type as a starting point is sent directly by your browser to the address search service: the Base Adresse Nationale in France (api-adresse.data.gouv.fr), Photon elsewhere (photon.komoot.io). The "Get there" button opens Waze, Apple Maps or Google Maps, as you choose, and only if you tap it: the chosen app then receives the coordinates of the grounds and, for the whole trip, those of your starting point.

If you tap “My location” or “Near me”, your phone first asks for your permission. Your position stays on your device; only a rounded position, to about a hundred metres, is sent directly by your browser to the Base Adresse Nationale to find the name of the town. We neither receive nor keep it.

To work out the route and find trains, your starting point and the grounds go through our server. The route is requested from IGN with these coordinates only, without your name or account. These coordinates are part of the request address: the technical logs of our host (Vercel) may therefore keep them, for as long as those logs are retained.

What stays on your device

Your browser storage keeps your session, your preferences (theme, language, level, navigation app), your notebook and your trips, and a copy of the app and the fixtures so you can open it without a connection. Scoutrip uses no advertising, no audience measurement tool and no advertising tracker.

While you are signed in, your notebook is readable on your device: it is only encrypted when it leaves it. When you sign out, it is erased from the device, along with the copy of the fixtures, and it stays on your account: you find it again the next time you sign in. If you share a device, sign out.

How we protect your data

  • everything goes through an encrypted connection (https);
  • your notebook is encrypted with your password before it leaves your device: we cannot read it;
  • each account can only read its own data: the database itself enforces it;
  • fixtures, player profiles and route calculations are reserved for signed-in accounts;
  • Scoutrip's code is private, and our keys to outside services never leave our servers;
  • the site refuses to be shown inside another site's page, and only loads code from itself.

Our providers

  • Vercel: hosting of the website and the app;
  • Supabase: accounts, encrypted notebooks and alerts;
  • Sportmonks: match and player data, queried by our server;
  • IGN: route calculation;
  • Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft: sending notifications, if you turn on alerts;
  • Waze, Apple and Google: the route, only if you ask for it with "Get there".

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, or object to its processing, by writing to contact@scoutrip.com. You can also contact the CNIL (cnil.fr) in France, or the ICO (ico.org.uk) in the United Kingdom.
